In the year 2000 ServiceLink was established by the NH State Legislature in response to public comment about the difficulty many people were experiencing in accessing information about services and long-term care supports.
ServiceLink provides unbiased, up-to-date information and assistance helping individuals and families make informed choices about health care and other services for older adults, people with disabilities and their families. Even if you’re not sure what you need, ServiceLink staff can help. Our trusted and experienced team of professionals will listen to your needs, respect your privacy and help you find answers. All services are offered free of charge.
ServiceLink provides citizens with:

Help to ensure a successful connection to services.
Assistance with long-term care planning.
One-stop assistance is available to consumers in the areas of: prescription drugs, transportation, housing, Medicare and Medicaid, home care options, caregiver support , housing, healthcare benefits, volunteer opportunities, counseling about alternatives to nursing home, chore services and more.
Services are offered over the phone, in the ServiceLink office, in a consumer’s home or elsewhere in the community.
In the past year, ServiceLink staff have responded to over 5,500 inquiries. In addition to the individualized work we do with consumers and their families, ServiceLink staff provide public education on a variety of topics including Medicare and Medicare Fraud, Emergency Preparedness, Caregiving, and more. Our Senior Wellness Festival in September attracts about 300 citizens each year and our bi-weekly column in the Laconia Citizen’s senior section continues in its popularity.
The ServiceLink Resource Center of Belknap County is made possible through the support of the Public Health Research, New Hampshire Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services and by a grant from the Administration on Aging and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid and is available to any elderly or disabled person and their family.
